Our Story

Our Story: Handmade, Local, and Kind to the Earth

Welcome to our little corner of the world—we’re so glad you’re here.

I’m Shasta, a farmer’s wife and mom of three, and alongside my husband Chris, we’ve built a life rooted in good food, hard work, and a deep respect for the land we call home. We met 17 years ago and spent our early years together in Healdsburg, California, where we fell in love with food that was fresh, seasonal, and grown with care for the earth. That experience sparked something in us: a commitment to feeding our family with homegrown and locally sourced food, and supporting the farmers and artisans in our own community.

Fourteen years ago we moved back to Hilmar, a small farming town we’ve come to love dearly. Here on our homestead, alongside our three boys (and Donald the duck—our self-appointed “farm manager”), we raise goats, a yearly pig, chickens, and plenty of memories.

This journey became even more personal when I faced my own health challenges. It forced me to take a closer look at what we were eating, the products we used, and the kind of home we were creating. I became passionate about reading every label, choosing clean, sustainable ingredients, and making our home as eco-friendly as possible—testing every “green” product to find what truly worked.

That’s how this store was born: out of our desire to share the things we love, use, and trust with you. Every product we carry reflects our values—handmade whenever possible, locally produced here in California, and always made within the United States. We believe in supporting American makers and keeping our dollars close to home, strengthening our communities while caring for the earth our kids will inherit.

Thank you for being here and for choosing goods that are made with love, intention, and respect for our planet—right here in California and across the U.S. From our family to yours—welcome.
